In the hallway outside the Library Media Center, third graders at Central
Columbia Elementary School proudly point to the mushers they chose and
followed for an Information Literacy unit on the Alaskan Iditarod Sled Dog
Race.

CCES fourth
graders work at the laptop computers purchased through a Library Services
and Technology Act grant administered by the Pennsylvania Office of
Commonwealth Libraries. They learned to navigate websites and locate
information in databases in order to select a musher to follow “on the
trail” for a truly fun, engaging Information Literacy unit on the Alaskan
Iditarod Sled Dog Race.
