CCHS Forensics Finalists Going to Nationals posted 5/7/10

Four CCHS seniors; Chris Criqui, Marshall McCollum, Aaron Stone and Brett Laidacker, will travel to Omaha, Nebraska over Memorial Day weekend to compete in the Grand National Forensics Championship Tournament. Approxiamtely 2,800 to 3,000 high school speakers, along with their coaches, will converge on Omaha for a weekend of serious competition.

Chris and Marshall are competing in Duo Dramatic Interpretation with a ten minute cutting of THE LITTLE PRINCE, which they organized. This is Chris and Marshall's second trip to Nationals. Brett and Aaron will argue "Resolved: That the constitutional right of freedom of religion has wrongly evolved into freedom from religion."

All four young men will participate in five preliminary rounds, and then, we hope they advance to octo finals, quarter finals, semis and finals. The entire forensics squad had an educational, successful year. Squad members will demonstrate their talents during activity period, Wed. May 12, in the high school auditorium.
